Our story...

At Nlesblu (N-Les-Blu), we are all about sustainable fish keeping. So what does this mean?
Sustainable
adjective
I'm sure many are aware that wild caught fish are harvested via possibly unethical means as fishermen are often lowly paid and they need to fish more in order to make a living.
Some of them build artificial dams to trap wild fish, disrupting natural ecological systems. Others blow up substrate to flush out fishes into a waiting net.
These methods are not sustainable in the long run. L046 Hypancistrus zebra was so over-fished that the source country had to ban all exports. Another well-known banned fish is the Datnoid pulcher.
This is why we made it our mission at Nlesblu to only purchase from captive bred sources.
Apart from being captive bred, the fish farms must not be utilizing unethical means to modify the shape or color of the fishes.
While we understand that some wild caught fish is necessary to mix up the genetics to avoid defects from inbreeding, these will be managed at the breeding farm and we will only sell F1 and beyond.
If you agree with our mission, give us an opportunity to be a part of your aquarium.
Yours Sincerely,
Nlesblu Team
